2013 Griffins women's soccer team
(Inducted 2024-25)
Over 50 years of MacEwan Athletics, there have been 12 teams that have gone undefeated in the regular season of their respective sport.
But only the 2013 Griffins women's soccer team also went undefeated in the playoffs, en route to the CCAA national championship - just one of three that MacEwan team sports won over their tenure in the ACAC (1974-2014).
After completing a perfect 10-0 regular season, the Griffins won the ACAC Championship with a 3-2 win over NAIT.
They went on to capture the CCAA national championship with a 2-0 victory over Cégep Garneau, who had won six of the previous 10 national championships and, after their loss to MacEwan, won four more in a row.
In the process, the Griffins became the only MacEwan team ever to have a perfect season, going 15-0-0.
They are the first of three teams inducted into the Griffins' Wall of Distinction during the Athletics' department's 50th anniversary season (2024-25). They were celebrated following the Griffins women's soccer game against Regina on Sept. 28, 2024.
