Student-Athlete Code of Conduct

Student-athletes enrolled at MacEwan University are expected to respect and fulfill, at all times, the institution's student policies, procedures, responsibilities and rights.

Student-athletes are required to uphold a standard of integrity and behavior that will reflect positively upon the institution, themselves, their teammates, their coaches and Griffins Athletics.

Student-athletes are expected to behave with propriety and to respect the rights and privileges of others. They are expected to abide by the laws of the city, province and country and by all rules and regulations of Canada West and U Sports. Failure to do so may result in suspension from the university or from participation in MacEwan University Athletics. All athlete ejections from a competitive game will be reviewed by the Director of Athletics, the athlete(s) will be required to meet with the Director of Athletics before returning to play.

Each Griffin team will collaboratively develop its own goals and expectations of conduct in concert with MacEwan University, CWUAA and U Sports. It is expected all student-athletes be completely informed of team expectations and abide by them.

Student-athletes will be provided this information and more during their orientation sessions each September and will receive the Student-Athlete handbook.
