EDMONTON - The all-time leading scorer in Griffins men's basketball history will be inducted into the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Hall of Fame on May 10.
Robbie Valpreda amassed a program-best 1,414 points and 752 rebounds in regular season play - both career marks that stand the test of time in the 49-year history of MacEwan basketball.

He is one of just three MacEwan athletes to win a Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Player of the Year award (2000-01) and was twice named a CCAA All Canadian and CCAA tournament all-star (2000-01 and 2004-05).
Valpreda led the Griffins to two CCAA medals in those years (silver in 2004-05 and bronze in 2000-01).
During Valpreda's tenure, the Griffins went a combined 60-12 in the ACAC regular season as he led them to two conference championships (2000-01 and 2004-05).
He was named to the ACAC first all-star team twice (2000-01 and 2004-05) and was named an ACAC second team all-star in 1999-00, his rookie college season. He also won MacEwan's Male Athlete of the Year award across all sports in 2004-05.
Valpreda is currently coaching the Concordia Thunder women's basketball team as he continues to make an impact on the sport in the ACAC.
