WINNIPEG – Despite an impressive performance from newcomer Brendon Lord, who saw increased volume with top attacker Mitchell Croft out of the lineup, the Griffins men's volleyball never led at any point in a 3-0 loss to the Manitoba Bisons on Friday.

Lord led the Griffins with a match-high 14 kills on a .385 hitting percentage, accounting for a match-high 15.0 points in just his third game (and second start) since joining the team as a transfer from Thompson Rivers.

But the Griffins struggled overall with a .042 attacking percentage in the match and really had no one else going along with Lord.

Manitoba was led by Karil Dadash Adeh and Spencer Grahame, who each had nine kills in the match, while setter Sammy Ludwig had 32 assists in just three sets.

With the result, MacEwan falls to 1-16 on the season, while Manitoba improves to 8-11

The teams will meet again on Saturday (4:45 p.m. MT, Canada West TV).
