CALGARY – Rookie Morgan Clark had the best performance of her young career so far with 13 points, which stood out as the highlight for the MacEwan Griffins in another tough loss to the nationally-ranked Calgary Dinos on Saturday.

MacEwan shot just 26.5 per cent from the field as they lost 88-32 to the U SPORTS No. 7 at the Jack Simpson Gym.

"Lots of learning and some tough lessons today from a top team in the country," said MacEwan head coach Katherine Adams. "We had some moments where I thought our defence did some good things, but ultimately not a good enough effort to compete."

Clark led the Griffins with 13 points on 50 per cent shooting in just 18 minutes off the bench. It was a promising effort for the first-year player from Kelowna, B.C., who had just eight points combined in her previous three games.

"Morgan gave us some great energy off the bench," said Adams. " She attacked assertively and capitalized on the opportunities the defence gave her."

Four Dinos finished the night in double figures in scoring with Amelie Collin and Louise Rouse netting 17 points each, while Lilia Skumatova added 11 points and Myriam Kone chipped in 10.

Next up for the Griffins is another road trip Nov. 22-23 as they'll visit the Winnipeg Wesmen.
