EDMONTON – With MacEwan leading 2-0 over Mount Royal University in the 37th minute, officials called a game delay due to increasing air quality index at Clarke Stadium.

Fans, players and staff waited more than 90 minutes, but ultimately, the Canada West women's soccer game was called and will be resumed where the game left off at a yet-to-be-announced date.

MacEwan was in complete control of the contest after Hannah Harper and Brenna Paquin scored and were pressing for more.

Harper tallied in the 11th minute, ripping a shot over the head of MRU keeper Torrance Langdon and in from 35 yards out for her second career CW goal.

Then, Paquin ripped a left-footed gem past Langdon off a great pass from Grace Mwasalla in the 29th to give MacEwan a 2-0 lead.

Stay tuned for an announcement on when the game will be resumed.

The Griffins are set to host Victoria on Sunday (12 p.m., Clarke Stadium, Canada West TV).
