EDMONTON – Paige Massier will graduate as a key part of the greatest girls basketball team in her high school's 55-year history.

Massier led the Peace River-based Glenmary Saints to a provincial 2A silver medal in March, their best-ever result.

That certainly helped cement her spot as a key addition in Katherine Adams' 2023-24 recruiting class for the MacEwan Griffins women's basketball team.

"She's a good athlete, a dynamic scorer," said Adams. "I think she averaged 28 points a game across the provincial championship, so she certainly has showed some versatility and a great scoring touch in how she plays the game.

"We're excited about the way she shoots the ball. Her vision is great playing in that point guard spot."

Massier will add important depth and push for minutes at the point guard position with second-years Toki Tsuzuki and Allie Spenrath.

"She's someone who has proven she can score," said Adams of Massier. "Adding more players who can shoot the ball from the outside certainly helps.

"Looking ahead to how we want to play the game – being more up-tempo, fast-paced – she has showcased her ability to play in that style very well. So, we're excited to see what she can come in and do."
